Home :: Web Development Scripts :: Javascripts

JavaScript is a scripting language. This particular language has been invented by the Interneet Service Provider Netscape. Javascripts are used for a variety of web applications. What they are is codes that are constructed from common characters and symbols that can be placed on HTML pages to create a variety of different types of web page tools and/or images. For instance, JavaScript is often used for the making of syndicated ads. These are ads that are placed on the pages of websites that automatically change according to the text that is on a web page. Certain types of navigation buttons, opinion polls, interactive discussion boards, and more.

Some definitions of Javascript state that this is a more simplified version of the Java language, the resemblance being that both of these languages are in some ways derivatives of C and C++ languages. However, it is the Java programming language that is more closely a resemblance of the complex C and C++ languages than JavaScript. JavaScripts are largely powered by the use of a web browser. The JavaScript program works with well-known browsers such as Netscape, Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Opera.

How The JavaScript Application Works
This particular scripting language sends messages to a web browser signaling what should be displayed on a web page. The codes that are made into JavaScripts are what are translated into a banner ad, navigation button, or a variety of other website tools-as mentioned earlier.

Other Uses Of JavaScript
It is used to create cookies which track internet usage. It is not necessarily for malicious purposes that JavaScripts are used this way-in fact most of the time not. Usually this information stored in cookies is kept confidential between a website owner and a website user. However, it is important for website users to always be careful and only complete personal money transactions on trusted sites. JavaScript is also often used to validate form data. This particular verification process usually happens before JavaScript information is sent to a server.

How To Learn JavaScript
Sometimes it is recommended to purchase certain books on the subject that are written by expert JavaScript users. These books most likely would help. However, it is not absolutely necessary to pay to learn this scripting language. Free resources and tutorials are available on the Web. You also can find free examples of JavaScripts that have been previously created. It will help you get started as you learn to create your own codes.
